    dreambox 500s

    hi - i want to buy a satellite box eg dreambox500s - i dont know where to start atm - i have a tutorial of how to set up the box - but i'm not sure about wot type of sttellite dish i would need to recive more then fta channels - i have a normaly sky dish - but hav been told i would need a motorised to dish to pick upo more then fta - cud somebody tell me wot exactly i would need to pick up the channels wot type of dish etc. and wot i can pick up

    you would need a minimum of 80cm 1meter would be best as you are going for a dreambox you will need to google cardsharing and you will open a lot but we cant talk about that on this site.You will also need a rooter and a Ethernet lead from your dm500 to the rooter

      thnks firestorm...with a different sat box other then dream box - are there ways to get channels without card sharing?

        only one package is open via patching the box(technomate) and that is digi tv on 1west which is changing encryption soon
        the only other way is to buy a package

            have a look at the protek 9600ip mate.. its the best non card share receiver on the market in my opinion..

            it hooks up to your broadband router but connects to a server directly.. its real easy to set up.. plug and play.. well supported box too
