    seen a dreambox 500 on amazon for ?59 is that a good buy for satellite, totally new to sat just getting my head round cable but looks like a change is coming

    dreambox satellite is nothing like cable.. cable dreamboxes boxes are plug and play, satellite is not.. if you want the 500s to open sky forget it, its not open like VM and never will be..

    dreambox 500s is best used to open european broadcasters.. its far more complex and needs excellent IT skills..

      thanks for the reply i gathered it was not easy but willing to try and give it a go not looking for sky looking to get as many chanels as i can . where do i get the info for wat u repled so i can start reading maybe got about 3/4 months nefore n3 rears its head, thanks once again

          thanks will do, mainly like the discovery and nat geo +comedy those are the main ones i watch is the dream box good to pick them up from euro sats or would i be better with another box

            with the right reading and also googling cardsharing you will be able to receive said channels.. most europeans dual broadcast the audio so with the press of a button the shows are in english

              i had an offer from a sat shop and he said if u get the new starview hd that does cable and sat ,dish +installation +cs for 71/2 would be a good set up but dont watch much sport and like the odd movie so i figure its maybe better to try and see what i can get for free and have a hobby 2 ,thanks mate for all ur help
