    Dreambox on a boat.

    Hi all,
    I'm new to the site so this is my first thread.
    I've bought a dreambox 500-S for my boat mainly because of the size of the unit. I haven't set it up yet but already suspect I may need to have a motorised dish.
    Does anyone have any experience of using a satellite system on a boat? I'll usually be in a marina so it should be relatively calm.

      i cudn see it working because there will be to much moving on the boat maybe if ya made some type of bracket or frame ya could bolt to a lamp post or railing or if its soft ground maybe drive a bar down into it

      try this for mounting it

          have seen boats with sat dish on them before when i have been away germans tut tut but it dose work how good it is i dont know but they were able to use it

              i have no doubt its possible 2 have a dish on a boat but keeping it aligned would be a bitch even with a motorized dish

              i cant keep my 90cm dish steady even in light winds , let alone coastal winds and water

                  There are a few boats at Portishead with dishes and I plan to moor alongside firm ground and use a tripod whenever possible.

                                                  At around ?1,800 each why not have 2, then you could use a pvr on the move to make sure you don't miss anything. Neat bonnet mascot as well
