Picture freezing on my DM500S when im downloading things!

Hey guys, basically when im using a cline that ive been given my picture freezes, BUT this only occurs when im using my newsgroup server to download things! When newsgroups is turned off then the picture is stutter free!

Is there a way around this other than the obvious turning newsgroups off when im watching TV??

Limit your newsgroups download speed to half, this shoul;d leave half the internet free and stop freezing.

    Thanks

@Yeahh should work okay, because rememeber newsgroups completly max out connections. So nothing is spare.

It should solve the problem as i said NewsGroups take all your bandwirth leaving non for your box to recieve data okay it also makes your legency longer which in turn increase your ECM.

              priorty

basically you want QoS Quality of Service where say cline is the highest traffic then maybe http and then sat bit torrent etc. Linksys routers with open source fw do this pretty good. most consumer grade ones dont

Thats very true actually, some routers will automatically assign bandwidth in equall amounts, but as said before NewsGroups tent to find any port and way through to max out the bandwidth.

I don't see how that will work only if he limits the download rate of his application.

Many bit-torrent applications have upload and download limits that can be set for this reason as it can impact on normal web surfing.

I have the same issue when I use a download manager that maxes out my connection.

Indeed all these file-sharing peer 2 peer applications are bandwidth clogs. Thanks for the posts people !
