    My DM500 - I hate it...please help

Ok so I finally got most of my stuff working on this heap of junk and then I installed a skin from the darkstar add on panel. Now it's stuck in a loop where the box keeps on trying to boot up and reboots it self at the splash screen over and over again.

How do I fix this. I can't telnet or FTP.

    I hate this thing.

I got me a DM500S as my first box. There were some bits I hated, but I then upgraded to the 800HD and all the things I hated work well in Enigma2.

          What exactly do you hate?

The fact you can't load all the plugins you would like on the box. You have to use dreamup every time it goes belly up and you have to have a network mount for recording just to name a few..

You get used to it very quickly.... A few goes at flashing and it takes 15 minutes tops to set it up once you are going..

A good tip is once you have it runnig as you want, do a backup using dreamup, then you just load that image back on.

It is probably not as bad as I make it sound, I just found it very fustrating at times and eventually gave up and got myself a dm600.

once you have made a image and loaded all your sats to it and a cam back it up with flash wizard software if then your image goes tits up all you need to do is go to were you saved your backup on your pc and reflash complete image will save you loads of time seting the box up again as once you flashed the back up its complete with cam and sats

Dm500 is the best box out there for a newbie. It looks complicated first day or 2 but once you are used to it, its really child's play

Fully agree with that, superb box and does exactly what its meant to do, the only problems that exist is when people try and get it to do more , watch free tv on it and forget about all the other shoite and you'll be fine !
