Please help - New image whats next

Hi guys,

Top site, someone please be kind enough to help a newbie out, maybe im getting old and the grey matters a bit tired.

Been doing a lot of reading but cant seem to find a proper step by step tutorial even tried the idiots guide, too many variations.

Just flashed my new DM500 with Nabilosat Enigma1 DarkStar II, I am using it with my Sky dish at the mo 28.2e?

Managed to do a lot of things in the past and I do it for the challenge and this one is a bit challenging and I cant get my head round this, would appreciate a nudge.


Would someone please be good enough to list what I need to next? Cams etc, I have a router with internet connection.

AM sorry for the bad news but I know what your asking and am afraid google is you best bet as we not allowed to tale about it here.

So I wont say no more as I wouldnt want to be banned,

Please do send any PM's asking me as I will not reply / respond anything regarding C/S.

I will however give you a clue... its all in your Cpanel.... use that shiny Blue button on your remote and google the rest

Thanks for the reply chap, perfectly understand about no c/s posting and wouldnt dream of putting such a lovely forum in the spotlight, read too many a posts - I know the score.

I just wanted to know if theres anything else I should install - Naturally thats allowed to be discussed off course.

Things like Satelitte XML lists etc

Thanks for replying, pms only by invitation so no problem. I will check out the menus. I suppose I will need to set up the network so the box can go online.

Like I said newbie to Sat so apologies for the q's.

Am I able to catch any other satellites next to 28.2e (?) With my standard sky dish say something lke 30.

unless its motorised then yes u can get other satellites... with a communal dish or shall I say a Fixed dish u wil obtain only SKy channels.

from the Cpanel u need to download the cam of your choice

and the box will need to be connected to your router

after that you will need a command line which U will need to find a Pay server.

rest is up to you... I think I have said enough

As i have mentioned before if you have no Networking knwledge then you will struggle big time.

Your a gent Sir, your prompting to install the "ccc screensavers" via cpanel button helped me to understand it a lot better. Had a play around in there, will just need to google the rest.

Networking is something I am ok with so no problems there, its all online.

Ok so only Sky with "communal dish" unless I fit a motorised or larger one I suppose. Once I get to grips with it, I will get a motorised dish.

I have also have a spare dish on the roof, just needs an LNB replacing, just for playing around and testing - Whats the best sat to point it at, bearing in mind I want to test out the "CCC screensavers".

There was like this auto updating key thing in there as well would love to play aroiund with that if its allowed that is.

the best sats to point to is 19.2 , 13E and 1Thor

Its good to know that you understood the Hints Given above

they are the main channels in my opinion anyway coz u get all the footie mate.

by the way anything larger then 1.3 I think will need planning permision.

1m dish will do you just fine.

HOW TO INSTAL A CAM

For instance you have installed a Nabilo Image, All the things you need to update your image are contained in the yellow BUTTON. You can see this by pressing double the yellow button on the remote control & scroll down to addons, once you have selected addons press ok on the remote then scroll down to DOWNLOAD & INSTALL press ok again now you have all the downloads on the screen, the 1st one you see is CAM press ok then you will see all the cams that are available to download, scroll down to the cam you want to download then press ok on the remote, it should download very quick then you get a screen saying ready to install press the green button to save, and complete the same process to download further cams.

This is where the software DCC dreambox control centre comes in, the default name and password on a dreambox is Name = root Password = Dreambox open the software and select your language and choose the connection type for this I choose router, now you will see three pictures the PC – DREAMBOX –ROUTER with a thick line going to all of them, put your IP address of the router in the router for instance 192.168.1.1 if this is the correct IP the thick line will change green from the router to the pc, and it should put the pc IP in automatically leaving a red line to the dreambox, leave this software running, now go to menu on the remote and select setup then expert setup press ok on expert setup then ok again on communication setup, on the top right you will see a box with DHCP with the left or right arrow go up to this highlight it and press ok you now have a tick in the box also make sure the enable network box is ticked after this press the green button to save then exit back to a tv channel, when on a tv channel reboot your dreambox after its rebooted press setup then expert setup press ok on expert setup then ok again on communication setup and you will se the IP address of your dreambox, make a note of this and go back too DCC enter your dreambox IP in the dreambox part now you should have a thick green line to the PC-DREAMBOX-Router and exit DCC software.

You have installed cam and plugin
Go to yellow button and select Keys Updater - ok - download key for your cam
Go to blue button and select cam
All done enjoy
