dreambox wont connect to dreamup helpppp

my dm500s trys to connect to dreamup and justs says upload complete waiting for acknowledge thats it i ve tryed different versions of dreamup no good, just to let you know the image in the box is gemini 4.20,
when i plug the box in its just a black picture nothing else, the green light is on.
i have a working dm500s and it will connect fine to dreamup, i have tryed alot, i dont think i should need to jtag it,
any suggestions thanks,

I was having a similar problem with a dm500c until i figured out that "unplug all cables even the power cable " means just that. Dreamup finds the box and asks you to turn it on. It is only then that you should plug in the power cord. You can also try disabling any firewalls that might be silently blocking the incoming connection.
