Won`t Work as described

A friend has a Dream box and after reading reams of posts on this forum I have concluded that my box won`t do the job his does.
He gets all channels including Pay per view boxing etc. through his cable box and it seems I won`t be able to do that without card share.
Can someone please confirm my conclusions,

welcome to dk wineprovider, if you have sat 500 then you will not get them channels without cs as sly is not hacked like cable. your friends box wont get the channels either in the coming weeks/months either as vm are changing encryption to n3 so its the end of free tv all round.

Can I confirm that in the near future even if I`m card sharing I won`t be able to get pay per view channels.

you will get whatever privlages your cs provider give you, pay perview on sly is box office, so an extra charge would be needed. You would be better setting up a small group yourself and then you can between you decide what you want to view. incidently you will not get the info to set this upo here at dk as we dont do cs. Google will help you find it.

I subscribe ?38 per month to SLY at the moment and at my age I`m trying to reduce costs. Can I appeal to your experience and ask " am I doing the right thing by trying to establish this set up" financialy.

i cant go in to anything tech here but lets say you had a full card which at the min costs 600 a year,if you were to share with five others it would cost 100 each. that a saving of 356quid to you alone

This sounds good.I can`t get round how I share. How does each holder get a card? Sorry if I sound thick but I can`t understand how the sharing is done.

Help to C Ban on Dreambox 500 S

I've got 2 Dreambox 500 S for me and a friend of mine, but I've tried so hard to configurated them on C band,but I got zero channels locked when I asked them to perform a scanning.
I'm using Plijade Image and a Chieta DiseQc 4x1 . I'm sure there's not an instalation problem because when I disconnect a DM 500 S and connect another decoder, at the same place all channels work very well, Ku band and C band.

I've configurated DiseQc simple, it doesn't work. So I configurated non.standard user defined configuration. LNB 0 and LNB 1 C band satellites, LNB 2 and LNB 3 Ku band satellites. Of course I've configurated C band LNBs LOF/L to 5150.

There's strong sinal on TPs SNR and AGC but the scan returns zero channels locked.

Today It there were a few channels working here, but when I changed de decoder fro here to anoter TV set , in another room, there are no channels to watch again !

What's going on? I need some help please, how to configurate, correctly, a DM 500 S on C Band.
