Why many channels?

Hi, First I wanted to thank everyone who posts on here. After reading many threads I managed to setup my dreambox 500 with no problems (though it did take 3 hours). What I was curious about is that when I put in my sly card and did a scan it seems to find 4 or 5 of the same channel for some channels for eg. channel 5. Only 1 or 2 of them gives a picture the rest giving audio only. Will someone kindly explain to me why this is and should i just delete the extra ones from the bouqet etc..?

More importantly how do I get things from the red button, I am thinking for eg. when the french open or wimby are on how will i use the BBC multichoice options via the red button? I have read in other threads that u have to manually enter them as channeld but was wondering if someone can tell me if there is a plugin that can make the "red" button work. Alternatively let me know or point me in the direction of the actual channel numbers.

i think there are different regions for some channels. ie adverts are specific to a region. (i think this is why) also i think with channel four and five, one is free to air and one may be the one the sky box pics up that you need a card for.

similar thing for paramount where theres one for ireland and one for the rest of the uk.

to view the bbc and sky active sports on your dreambox you will need to dowload and install dreambox edit ,set up a connection as you would with dream control center ,now click on ftp and bring the files from the dreambox to dreambox edit ,choose only data channels (these channels are seen by the dreambox as data channels ) and choose only astra/eurobird 28 east . you will need to find the freguencies that these data channels are on ,look here its a full list of all frequencies and channels on 28 east http://flysat.com/28east.php . now when you have the frequencies ,in dreambox edit click on the data channel that you want to view and highlight it ,now right click it and change it to a tv channel .do this for all the channels you want ,then save ,now send the files back to the dreambox .you might have to do a reboot of the box ,then do an auto scan .hopefully all the channels you changed to tv services will be displayed . note that of course if the channels are not broadcasting there wont be anything to watch ,try it on a champions league night ,or when you know there is sports on those channels .
