Possible to use alternative remote with DM500?

I have just bought another DM500s to stick in my bedroom and was wondering if it's possible to use a different remote to control it.

I recall seeing a guide somewhere that detailed changing a config file to allow NAS recordings to be performed with one of the less used buttons on the remote.

This got me wondering if there's a similar config file that could be edited to make the box accept IR commands from a Sky+ remote (simply because I have dozens of these and they feel good in the hand)

The other alternative option is to buy a Logitech or something... but I thought I'd try to explore this avenue 1st, being that I already have the hardware to hand (bum-tish)

Anyone got any info or suggestions on this?

As said, I thought I'd give this a try being that I already have the hardware without any extra cost... It's only for the bedroom you see.
