buying a DM500... with FTA in product name

i am about to buy a dreambox DM500-S from a website but the product title is "DM500s Satellite Receiver Dream Box DM 500S FTA"

i am concerned about the FTA - does this mean that i will only be able to view free-to-air channels?

That's how they're advertised and essentially all they are out of the box!!! (for legal reasons)

It's only when you start "tweaking" they are able to decrypt pay channels.
