DM500 Clone doesn't lock signal

anuchard did you ever get this problem sorted i have just purchased 2 dm500 boxes one of which has the same symptoms the other works perfect. is there anything i can do before sending it back.

My 500s clone does the same thing, 63% signal, AGR at 86%-92% but no lock at all, and signal stays at 63% even when it doesn't have the cable attached to it... tried GP, Nabilo Darkstar, SifTeam, all with the same results.

To me, sounds like a hard problem...

I have two dm500 which have the same problem, with or without sat cable in, it always remains 60%. Tried all images, even changed a chip (Q72 I think) on one of them but to no avail...

Anyone have a fix for this ,besides useing a power injecter?

I have a DM800 driving the dish and I have a DM500 also fed from the same LNB (with 2 ports).

I had exactly the same problem as you - the 500 shows 63% with nothing attached and hence you are not getting any signal if the SNR does not get above about 70%.

I would start by checking your cabling with particular attention to the connectors. This is one issue I had when the 800 had a great signal and the 500 was only showing 63%. Make sure the wiring is done properly and the connectors are tight enough.

Is your dish the right size for the satellite you are trying to receive from? Equally are you absolutely sure it is positioned correctly?

It may be worth fitting a Line Amplifier just in case the signal strength is a bit lower than it should be. these can be bought on ebay for only a few Bhat. The cabling should be less than 30 metres from the dish to the box.

I also had to reflash my 500 before it worked fine.

Its my opinion since your box is new that there is less chance the box is faulty than some issue with your feed to it.

I have same problem with my DM 500s clone, constantly SNR is 63%, AGC is moves from 88 to 100%, dependent of transponders, cause i started automatically Transponder Scan, tried locking signal for Hotbird 13E, Eutelsat 16E and Astra 19E, for all is same, i'm not sure what can be there... Read somewhere, that reason can be bad PSU, so tried with different power cable for powe adaptor, but same situation, always SNR - 63%.

This DM 500s clone, was used at another location, and there worked 100% ok, but now at my location, can't lock signal, and SNR always 63%, connected or not connected antenna's cable, it's not so big distance from satellite dish and DM 500s unit, about 8-10 meters, so i think it's not problem with cable, maybe LNB, dish?

Dish is 90cm, what can i try to lock SNR over 63% ?
