Had a quick look about, was wondering what the default pin code is for the paretal locks, or if anyone has a guide on how to set this up.

Thanks for that, but the default pin is not working, tried '1234' '0000' '1111'

Any other ideas on what it could be or how to reset without flashing/resetting the full box?

if your lock is activated and you have forgot your pin, you can find it use ftp to your box, go into Enigma2 folder, then into settings folder and scroll through it you should find it there. Should be a line that reads (perental lock setuppin 1234) or whatever it is.

i tried this,
my Enigma2 folder is in a folder call etc.
and their is no folder with settings, only a file called settings

when i open it i do not get a line line that reads (parental lock setuppin 1234)

and it still keeps asking me for a password., please help

search for setuppin=

after the = sign u will see ur password in digits

(1234) is just a example the 4 digits will be whatever is set. Just as a matter of interest has the parental lock been set when you went through the set up, if not you just need to set it up. If you have set it up, and if you cant find it in the folder I suggest, just be patient it will be there. I had the same problem.

when i got the box, i did not set-up a pin.

the guy i got the box from said he did not set up a pin either.

i was moving channels and by mistake i put nick.jnr as parental lock , and my daughter is going crazy FAV channel.

when i go into \etc\enigma2

their is a file called settings this is what i get in the file

as you can see config.ParentalControl.servicepinactive=true is active, but no pin code..

is this stored anywhere else, or can i replace this file is someone sends it to me. or add a entry?

i have done a search for setuppin= but no luck, as it think this is the text and not a file.

hi guy, sorted

i changed

config.ParentalControl.setuppinactive=true
config.ParentalControl.configured=true
config.ParentalControl.servicepinactive=true

to

config.ParentalControl.setuppinactive=false
config.ParentalControl.configured=false
config.ParentalControl.servicepinactive=false

and it turned off pin service and allowed me to set me pin.

now when i got to the file and edit it shows

config.ParentalControl.servicepin.0=**** my new pin is their.

no , scan later manually
