Have you followed the guide here...

Are you sure it's a null modem cable? It might be a serial cable or an rs232 cable, these have different pinout and won't work. It needs to be a null modem cable.

      HI,

It is a 9 pin cable with male & female. Im using the female adapter to convert to 9 pin female, did it work?

      Thank you.

can you show us the picture of actual null modem cable? Can you let us know where can we buy the null modem cable via online? This is because im in oversea, so I prefer buy it online.

        Thank you.

            Hi Devilfish,

As you mentioned null modem cable RS232 is not work, then which null modem cable is suitable? What is the model number?

            Thank you.

Devilfish is trying to say that an RS232 cable and a null modem cable are not the same thing. Checkout the link supplied by Father Ted as that is the cable you need if have not brought that cable already.

I think a rs232c has the same end on both sides but the null modem cable's is different. Ie male female.

The rs232 is the same description of cable. 9 pin female to female. But it is can be wired in different ways.

You can order ones that you need from ebay.

Not all null modem cables are wired the same. Dont buy unless it says it can do sat or cable boxes.
