DM500 fta question

Hi. Im new to the forum and was looking for a bit of help. Im new to the whole c/s thing as ive always been cable. I bought my first dm500 and put the latest open pli image on it. Ive scanned 28.2E fine. Its picked up the channels, but all of them have no data for this service avaliable. Should i be able to view the fta channels?. Ive got CCcam 2.1.4 installed and the box has a net connection. Im not looking to view PPV stuff yet as im waiting on a friends server being set up. Should i be able to view the fta stuff without a c-line.

you should have all the free channels ,check your satellite connections in case it has come loose ,there is a satellite signal meter in the dm500s press menu ,press number 6 (setup) ,choose service searching ,and choose sat find . snr and agc should be up around 90% ber should be 0 and lock and sync should have a green tick ,if snr is o% check your connection if its about 50% your dish may be misaligned.

i would try an auto scan again mate ,your signal strenght is very good so thats not a problem .

Tried that mate, but no success. Ive done a factory reset to start over. Hopefully this works. Will post back with the results.

Still no joy after a factory reset. Im gona try a new image. You recomend any. Im currently using the latest open pli image.

Try loading the S*y Uk bouquets to see if that makes any differnce.

newbies tend to have problems with pli images i always recommend nabilo sat images as i find they are newbie friendly and i have not had any trouble at all with them . i know image experience is dependent on the user and on various users experiencs but if i had a choice based on not having one problem i would say go for nabilosat.

Ive now loaded gemini 4.7 and found loads of channels-in german. The epg is also german. Could it be im on the wrong sat. At least the box is now showing channels so im goin in the right direction.LOL
