Thoughts on Gemini2 5.0 for DM500HD

Hi, been happily using a 500s for 3 years, but ahead of the World Cup upgraded to the 500HD.

I flashed Dream Elite BH 1.2.4, and was working fine for a day, then just as I was fine tuning the cccam config file to achieve best results, I got the dreaded green light syndrome, with the box unresponsive and unflashable. I just got the box back after 3 weeks of consternation and bugging the Surrey based authorised dealer.

I am now very nervous about flashing anything, but yet am obviously keen to set up cccam and the other sexy bits which only come with a better image.

So I would like to solicit people's experiences with images for 500HD. In particular Gemini 5.0 for 500HD and whether anybody has had to endure a dead box from it.

not many people have 500hd boxes genuine ones were only 100 cheaper then the dm800s.

do u have a genuine dm500 hd??

I bought a 500HD just before the WC & I too loaded Dream Elite BH 1.2.4 OE1.6 DM500HD Multiboot, believing that it was one of the better images, totaly wrong that turned out to be...

I had the green screen a few times but i had no idea it was that serious, it just rebooted and ran again for a few days until I deleated it three days later.

The Dream Elite image is primarily responsible for the bulk of Faulty Receivers that the 500HD experianced just after launch, the Dream Elite image was released long before Gemini released there image, Gemini are payed by Dream-multimedia for image development, God knows how they put an image together even before Gemini seeing as the 500HD is far more powerful mor memory etc than the current 800HD.

I recomend to everybody with a 500HD to stay well away from Dream-Elite, Since I loaded Gemini 5.0 I have not had one issue, fan control works, system information works and picture quality is far better for some reason.

Dream-Elite are missing something big when it come to this receiver and there image, but to date they have not put there hands up nor have they addressed any of the issues with there latest image Dream Elite BH 1.3.3 OE1.6 DM500HD.

load Gemini 5.0 onto it, its as safe as houses and is very-very stable, its not a nice image to use until you find a skin you like and fling a few picons onto it, a realy great receiver. Stay away fron Dream-Elite.

yes definitely a genuine box. Comes with the plugin to verify serial number etc. Wanted teh 500hd as it has a better processor i think, and also an hdmi out, rather than dvi.

Thanks, this is very reassuring - I suspected Gemini was the way forward.
