    preblem with ftp

Hi I am having a problem transferring files to my dm500s Im using a null modem cable with rs232 adaptor to usb. I am getting message socket error no. 10060 connection timed out. I tried using older pc with rs232 socket but still no joy. Dreamup works fine. is there any easier way to transfer key files. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

buy yourself a crossover cable about ?3- ?5 and connect using that either a direct connection or through a router.

use a programme called Core ftp or Flash ftp, both available in dk downloads

You might be able to use the cable(s) you currently have. When you are "using a null modem cable with rs232 adaptor to usb," if you properly adjust the settings of that particular USB input by going into "device settings" and selecting that USB, you should be able to resolve the issue. I would provide a much more detailed response but I'm now using Vista. I ran into the same problem when I was using my old XP computer and I managed to get it working.
