DM500s setup

Hi Guys,
I am new here, and very new to Dreamboxes, My sky box in the house killed itself and sky wanted ?65 just to send an engineer to look at it so I told em where to go, I have bought a second hand Dreambox 500s with dk v1.1 on it. The easy part was getting it tuned in to the ASTRA2ABD satellite. Here is the bit I am not getting, I seem to get all of the FTA channels but playing but only a black screen on the SKY (payable) channels, is there something else I need to do and if so can someone give me a few pointers. I have rwad a lot of threads here and there is a lot of talk about "addons, EMU's, Plugins and configs. I also have a heading of SLOTMANAGER and there is nothing in it, does that mean that my slot is knackered or is there something I need to do to configure it.


You guys are in the know and I would like to be. Please be kind and give me a few pointers as I am missing my SKY Tv.

I don't know what image you have on your box.

You need to find the addon menu for plugins, then download CCcam_2.1.3 or CCcam_2.1.4 from the emu menu and also download the CCcam.cfg.


FTP to your box and located /var/etc

Here you will find CCcam.cfg

Open it and you will need to enter your sky box key.

This is needed for sports and movie channels.


For now just try and get the basic channels working and install CCcam.
Once CCcam is installed pop card in to the db500 chip facing down and start CCcam using remote control.

I changed the image from dk 1.1 to the Gemini Project 0420 from the downloads on this site and I have it working with CCcam2.14, I also downloaded the KeyGen and Voila. I like this and am going to give it a damn good go to understand it and hopefully contribute something back.

Any tweaks would be appreciated.

hi mate i have a 500s to and im hopeing u can help i flashed whit darkstar 2 and download cccam 213 sticky and made default.. scanded channells 28.2 got a lot of channells sky and all that but all can watch is lots of bbc1,2,,3,4utv,itv,e4 c4 now my question is wat am i doin rong i must have an internet conection as i downloaded cccam 213 compleat through the box now i gota test c/line last week and used d/c/c to ftp to box on line 80 i deleted the simble on line 80 before entering c/line plus i reset box factory restore and deleted image and redone all still no good im at my wits end almost giving up do u think i should use a different image like gemini or is there something im missing or am i way of the mark o ya and im way over my head so any help you could give me please dumb it down so i understand thanks a lot

do you have a fixed ip adress on your internetconnection?
Could be the problem if you dont have a fixed ip your cs provider does not know you anymore...
Could ask him first.
