adding satalites to dreambox 500s

i was wondering if someone could tell me how you add satelites to the dreambox 500s and what ones you add how do you know which 1s to add i live in uk if that helps im new to this so not sure what to add someone says i need to find out what satelite my dish is on buit how do i find that out please help thank you

have you plugged the box into a dish that was already on your wall..??? If so I'm 90% sure it will be pointing at the Sky satellite (Astra 28E)...

If you want to move it to 1W then you will have to use a sat finder and physically move the dish..

I hope this doesnt sound rude but the dreambox is an exceptionally technical bit of kit and if you aren't sure how to find out what satellite your dish is pointing at, it may not be the right box for you..

yeah mate plugged it in to the wall signal strength in thats all good just wasent sure of settings to connect to satelite

you need to do a bit of reading bud.. there is tons of info here..

you need to select the right image, then move your dish to your chosen satellite.. you will have to make sure you have the chosen satellite listed in your satellites.xml file though or it wont be listed..

then you will need to scan the satellite for channels..

finally to view the channels you will either need an official subscription card or google cardsharing..

are you familiar with connecting the box to a laptop / pc and using either telnet or a program like DCC to transfer files to your box..??

The dreambox isn't a plug and play box..

im not sure what you are trying to ask mate..

if you have connected the box to the dish via coax cable and gone into the menu and scanned the Astra 28E satellite you should have a list of channels... many of which will be encrypted unless you have a sky card

sorry bud.. there is no satellite called astra 1s.. satellites are either E or W

you are trying to find Thor 1W..

i suggest you do a fair bit of reading mate.. you wont get Thor 1W channels if your dish is pointing at 28E which it sounds like it is.. you will have to physically move the dish to align it to 1W

dont speak in text type then..

download a different satellite.xml file then to your PC and transfer it to your box

when i do a transponder scan it says there is a valid transponder verify that the right network is selected how do i set it up
