    Which method to flash dm500?

Which method is more secure and preferable for flashing the dm500s: with DreamUp, using Telnet (copy .img file to /tmp), or with FlashWizard?

I've never used flashwizard but used telnet and dreamup and i think telnet is better and faster unless you hit a problem then dreamup will sort it out.

    THE TRUTH
    The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

          Thank you,

          I have tried three methods.
DreamUp make mi some problems, maybe my pc com port dont work! Flashwizard is easy and fast. Telnet was also fast.

From my newly acquired experience I would use Flash wizard for speed and convenience with Dreamup via null modem should anything go wrong. I was always use to just using an ethernet cable and browser for the DM800.

              Which method to flash dm500?

I wonder if dreamup is hardcoded to run at 9600bps? It takes 12mins to flash a dm500. And only 12secs for FTP/telnet methods.

Thats because the null modem technology is quite old and thus extremely slow.

Flashwizard alway the best option for me or an older version of dreamup will do...
but being a lazy butt like me flashwizard let me do it wirelessly from my sofa and I use the dcc in telnet mode to send the command "reboot" enter) to restart the machine without unplugging it :-). That's my little tip :-)

tried and tested! Dreamup with the DM connected via the router. Make sure your PC is also on the same router and subnet. Use a network cable.
