dm500, loading new channels?

hi all, apologies for newbie question in advance.
after spending years on the cable scene, ive recently got a dm500s and an 80cm dish ( no motor yet), and im just feeling my way around it. my friend set it up for me, and gave me a share to start me off.
now after spending a bit of time reading into it, ive managed to work out how to connect it to dcc, and change c lines and that.
problem is, the share ive got isnt full package, so i was going to use a payserver for a month or so, till i get my head round it proper. ive found a decent server, and got a test c-line off them.
this is where my problem lies at the moment, ive changed the line in my config, and done an auto-transponder scan, but it doesnt pick up any more channels than what i had originaly. just says 0 new channels found.
i know im prbably doing something stupidly wrong here, and tbh i feel a bit stupid at the moment.

ur talking about two different things completely which dont relate to eachother, the channels yoou are paying for will work, they dont need to be scanned in again

hi mate, apologies, i was given the box by a friend and he had loaded it with a share of his sky package. for nothing. it wasnt the full package though.

so i had say 322 chanels on it, ive now deleted that c-line and put in a test line from a pay server, but i havent got any of the channels they say it should have, ie movies and sport.

when i do a transponder scan, it just says, 0 new channels found, when i press blue button it tells me im connected to the payserver, but i havent found any of the new channels, just what i had anyway, am i missing something out?

im actualy thinking of reseting to factory settings, then flashing again, would this help?

When doing a transponder scan put a tick in the network box first in the scan settings ,

This should then scan in all the channels on that sat.

if the image is older it may not have all the frequencies and so it will not give you all the channels (i assume the channels you are paying for are on 28 east the sky satellite)you can add frequencies manually with your remote

how to add missing frequencies to your dreambox

your image can be missing frequencies/channels if its not a newly released image ,especially when viewing channels on the sky satellite as this is relatively new. you can add frequencies with your remote control. press menu on your remote ,press number 6 (setup) ,choose service searching ,choose trannsponder edit, now you will see astra/eurobird 28.2 east highlighted in red and below you will also see sat highlighted in red ,and on the right you will see a list of all the frequencies in your box . now press the right arrow button on your remote control and you will see add highlighted in red . now click on this link

here you will see a list of all frequencies and channels on the sky satellite ,now back on the tv screen look at the frequencies that you have ,start with the first frequency and scroll down through them one at a time and compare them to the frequencies on your computer screen . when you see a frequency you dont have press ok on your remote ,now simply put in the frequency ,choose horizontal or vertical ,set fec (usualy 2/3 or 5/6 ),and set symbol rate (usually 22000 or 27500) then press the green button to save ,carry on adding frequencies untill you have them all and then exit and save .then return to service searching and choose automatic transponder scan ,press ok ,you will see a valid transponder has been found,now press the green button to scan for channels ,you should now have all the available frequencies/channels from sky. in the frequency list in the link above you will see frequencies that have a strange fec and symbol rate (most likely they are non sky channels or feeds) there is no need to add them unless you want to.


if you have a bit of experience you can also download a channel list and ftp it to your dreambox .

if you do a factory reset you will lose all your settings and cccam will need to be reinstalled so your c lines will be gone . thats all i can say as cardsharing discussion is not allowed.

help newiebie problem with dream d=box 500 box /wen pressing volume button on remote channel changes ?/also wen pressing channel + button it brings film guide up/cant get volume to up on tv screen either /tried different remote no joy /have i got to flash box /if so how do i do this will i lose all settings in doing so anyway of saving main files on pc
