What can a Dreambox do?

I am in the process of getting a Dm500s but do not know yet what this box is capable of other than Sat TV.

Assuming the box is linked to my router...

Can it stream video files from my home PC?
Can I stream live Tv to my Archos 504 wifi?
Is the EPG good? I have a Technomate 1500 and the epg is rubbish.
Can you record to your PC hard drive?
Is there somewhere I can look to see screenshots of an epg, OSD etc?

1) yes you can m8

2)never really tried it m8 but i think you may need to stream to pc and convert it to suitable format to archos(not sure which format archos plays back)

3)epg depends on image and provider you are watching......nabilosat has started to make some epg plugins for sky uk and sky italia and is embedded on the newer images

4)yes you can m8

5)as stated epg is dependant on image....if you look in the downloads i posted a dreambox 0.8maxvar image with a few screen shots...but this is quite a old image now but still one of my favourites

thanks for the reply kl. really looking forward to getting the box now. if i can get it to work with my archos i will be chuffed. will be fun trying anyway.
