    Help needed to setup

    Afternoon all,

    Thanks,

Has it got a good set of bouquets installed on it??

Save you time scanning the channels.

Get a good set of them and install with DReambox edit.

Do plenty of reading cos these boxes are not plug and play but you will get there in the end.

        Andy.

Evening Andy, yeah I am reading up on what I have to do on here but at the moment I feel totally let down by the person who sold me the box last weekend as he said it should start working but then when I went to ask him for help he has not got back to me.

Evening 00360362878, I am mainly looking to get the Asian stations for my parents, I would like Sky Sports also but for those I can just watch the games on the internet.

So far we have got to the stage of having the box connected and from the blue button on the remote we have changed the options to Desi.... as what the person told me to do, he then said we need to come out of that and the stations would work, however they don't work and all we are getting is a blank screen with the station guide at the bottom of the screen and to make matters worse I was charged ?180 for the box and when I googled it I relaised these boxes were going for roughly ?60 and now the person doesn't seem interested in helping seeing he has made his money out of us,

Difficult to talk about c/s on here.Yes the dm 500 is actually about 50 quid, did he say he actually put anything on the box other than the image?
Have you set up your network?? You will only get fta(free to air channels) if the network hasnt been set up.
This might be the reason you have no channels.

Afternoon Andy, I have read the post on gudie to motorised dish setup, however I can not seem to find the Tuner Configuration and my first option when I go into Setup and service sarching is Satellite Configuration but even in there I can not find ALPS BSBE2 (DVB-S2), is there anything else which I can try?

Afternoon 00360362878 I am using a dLan Highspeed 11 Network Kit to have connection to the box which works as I have also connected this to my laptop for the internet connection to test it, we have a skydigibox from a few years ago and a satillte dish which cam with this when Sky installed in, but we stopped using this when I got the Eurovox, however this still picks up stations from Sky including the FTA ones and some others,

When I go into TV mode I have prssed the blue button which brings up the blue panel screen from there I pressed the yellow button the the red one for Auto-Cam Setup, the default Cam is CI but we were told to change this to DESI-SENSATION and the add that so the reads something like (Provider) BSkyB - DESI-SENSATION we were then told to exit this screen which I have done and exit the blue panel screen but we get nothing, can you please help me out or if anyone else has any ideas on how I can get the box working all the help would be really appricated,

                  Thank you

hi 007. I think perhaps you dont know enough about the setup of your reciever. First thing is dont panic because you will get it working, just not today. You need to switch your box off, make a cup of tea, put the laptop on your knee and start typing all your questions into your search engine. It will answer all you need to know, and if you see something that you feel is something you need to remember, then print it and title it. That saves keep going backwards.
When you have got your head arround the set up then ask some more specific questions on here and someone will help you.
                    Good luck !!

You have so much to learn im afraid. These things are not just plug and play even if someone has set this up for you.
If he did set it up for you and your network has been set up and tested then it should work but are you using a basic dish or motorised set up?
As the other members have said try and do some searching and if your not sure post and hopefully you will get some answers but if i was you i would search for a tut or maybe youtube for some of the answers then you may get your head round things.

                        Andy.
