Help new dreambox

hi just recieved my box today, connected it to pc with ethernet cable and transferred the image file in the box. then i did the update suftware manual, the image started updating after a minute the screen gone black waited 5 minutes and then i was angry and just switched off the box by power wire. then tried to re-put the power wire in the box and the green light it is on but nothing is coming on tv?! please help me

Reflash the box with Dreamup and null modem

when i try to open dreamup i have this error "ERROR: can't find any COM ports - aborting!"

Are you trying to connect via ethernet ? You need to connect via null modem to reflash. Only null modem will work

thank you, i have ordered a null cable. i am a newbie, i don't know even what to do after i loaded the image on the box, please can you explain?

get your null modem cable first and get back to us ,by the way if your using a laptop you will also need a usb to serial adaptor .the reason for that is that your laptop will likely not have the 9 pin connection on it for the null modem cable so you join the usb to serial cable to the null modem cable which gives you a null modem end and an usb end .if your using a desktop you will be ok as it will have the 9 pin connection needed for the null modem cable.

if a dm 500 crashes mid flash i pull the plug then need dreamup,
but i think i can use flashpro still if i know the boxs ip for some reason i think it 127.x.x.x what is there a default ip for a dream-box 500s? if there is you

i am not a master ,i only try to help if i can ,there is no default dreambox ip address your router will set your dreambox an ip address .
