    cannot mount directory to dm500s help please

    hi guys im trying to create a mount from my laptop to dm500s so i can get epg, but i cant get it to work iv followed the guide on pli website but still no joy, any tips please coz its driving me mad.

    You need to post more info about what you are trying to do.

    Which OS are you trying to mount to, ips, paths as much as you can so that peeps can look at what you did and find where the problem is.

        im using win 7, trying to mount via pli interface the details im entering are,
        Description: dm500s
        Filesystem Type: CIFS
        Auto Mount: yes
        Client Directory: /media/hdd
        Server Directory: \\LAPTOP\Users\Public\epg
        Remote Host Name/IP: 192.168.0.2
        User Name:
        Password:
        Options: rsize=8192,wsize=8192

          Is it mounting or not?

          I never use Micro$haft software so can't help with the Windo$e side but I do notice you don't have an R/W option set. In Linux this would make the share read only. Long shot but perhaps.

            when i click mount it doesnt change, what do you mean by r/w option mate

              In Linux you have to specifically make the mount read write, by default it is read only but it seems that yours is not mounting so that will not be your problem I don't think.

              I reckon you are going to have to wait for someone that uses Windo$e to help you. be patient someone will.

                  have you shared the folder on Windows and given full access

                  I have mounted my shared drive on the my XP PC to /mount/hdd and no problems

                  I would check security and sharing on Windows, as thats most likey the problem - may even be down to firewall on PC that may be stopping it

                  see screenshot below, one is mount settings and other is the directory onthe PC with the EPG data.
