is my box bricked?

hi guys pretty new to this got a dm500 clone on gemini 4.70
now all was working fine untill 2 mins ago when i went onto the gemini server thru the menu on my dreambox and down loaded a new skin it said it was enigma1 compatible. i have rebooted and mow all i get after the test card at boot is a black screen i cant get back into the box via my router or thru straight ethernet connection to reflash or anything. any suggestions? thanks.

Re-flashing using Dreamup should recover it...

Try it with a null modem cable and do a flash erase first or with an ethernet and null modem cable together,much quicker,Andy.

will a serial cable work? i get error message saying socket is not connected in DCC, i think ive bricked it, ive just googled around and someone said the downloads in the gemini server have the bad updates for the clones. i'm only getting a screen when i boot it with a brief picture (normal) then goes black

even bricked boxes can be connected to through null cable

Needs to be a null modem cable - They look the same as a serial cable but are wired differently

sorry for sounding like a tool but can this be reflashed with a serial cable? and if like u said i can refash it how will i know if its bricked then?

oh and will i have to download the firmware from dreambox.com and put this on?

No, it must be a null modem cable...If after you've reflashed it, its all working fine then it isn't bricked.

You can download images from there yes or the download section on DK.

I wouldn't use gemini though...

Try PLi Jade 3, Nabilosat Darkstar 11 or even DK v1.1 they're all available in the D/L section and are all clone safe.
