yes you need firmware on your box

yep m8 look in dl section you gonna need null modem cable plus a proggy called dreamup

When you turn the box on what do you see on your screen as that will give us a clue to what is installed on your box.

it just comes up dream then when i scroll though the settings it says enigma in the bottom left cheers

As long as your willing to have a go theres loads of peeps here to help you.
I only just set up my first dream in the last 24 hours , although i have doen all kinds of cable boxes etc, and never had a clue but could set one up without any guides or anything no problem now. just seems bit daunting to begin with.
