Got my no frills system up and running

Pulled out a openmedia 500c/s from the loft last week . Its been up for about 2 years still in the box.
Anyway went to the garage to get my old sky dish out and found it was burried and to get at it would need to move a pile of boxes, 3 mountain bikes, a scooter and various other shite to get to it so just went to aldi and bought one of those ?50 fta systems.
Anyway at the moment the dish is screwed to one of the kitchen stools sitting just outside the patio doors.
missus was bit pssed off when she came downstairs yesterday morning to find a sat dish screwed to one of her kitchen stools but once I got it all set up and working she forgot all about the holes in the stool!
I have also got it connected to the internet via a three dongle mobile broadband plugged into one of the wireless dongle router via the ethernet cable and its all working great. No freezing etc.
Going to put the dish up properly tomoz but just wanted to try it all out before falling off ladders etc.
quite surprised with the dongle tho, didn't think it would work very well but its great.

for the box to reach it's full workings it should really be connected to the internet 365/24/7

For example mine is hardwired to my Virgin BB router and is connected constantly..

The box should also either be ON or in Standby.. never OFF

    Does Mobile BB allow this..??

with this one you can top up whenever minimum of a teener but that will only last 30 days. but i think you can get ones now that are already loaded with credit and it does not have expiry date so would be good for the boxes as they dont use much.

After doing a bit of reading I think I need an old vodafone dongle (not new blue one).
They stopped selling them around christmas but they had 1gig for ?15 but with no expiry on the credit but now the new ones give 3 gig for ?15 but expire after 30 days.
To be fair though I only use mobile dongle for my internet anyway so having it connected to the box wont be a problem,
but dont fancy topping up tenner every month just for the box, but again its not a lot if your getting loads of channels
