    Removed service headache!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Strange problem here gents.
    Ive got a 500s for my friend , used plijade, scanned sat etc, all working at my house fine.
    Took it to my pal and some channels are saying removed service????? Any ideas???????
    His snr was 85% and the other one was 91% and got a lock on sat so that seems ok.

    When you get 'removed service' it's usually because there's been a frequency change, i.e the channel is broadcasting from a different frequency/transponder or the channel has ceased broadcasting.

    It's the reason channel settings/bouquets are frequently updated...

    Try a rescan or upload an upto date channel list to the dreambox

      Cheers Dave-H for your reply, i have only just downloaded the bouquets from the sky thread last week, alls ok there , they work at my house anyway, and ive rescanned transponder and everything but still no luck with certain channels.
      Could it be a weak tuner issue??????

        the tuner configuration must be identical to his dish setup

        if u have astra & hotbird for example, and ur friend have only astra... all hotbird services will be shown as removed when the box is fixed at ur friend's place

        also the order of the sats must be taken into consideration.. any changes in the order will result removed services to show.

          No defo both have astra only!

            did u try to set it up at ur friend's place? reset factroy settings and start set it up

              Wouldnt i have to install the image again though?
              The thing is my friend isnt very techy and does not own a pc

                reseting to factory settings doesnt require reflashing..
                it will take the image back to its original status as if it is just flashed into the box.

                Menu > Setup > Expert Setup > Factory Reset

                  Right folks an update:

                  The reason i found for the error was that the cable i was plugging into was either too long or shite quality. It was running my box upstairs.

                  Anyway re scanned transponder on downstairs sat cable and alls well.
