Is port forwarding important for dreambox set up?

Hi everyone
My friend installed dreambox but he just plug network cable to router for Internet connection, he didn't forward port, so my question is important to forward port? Or is there particular reason?,
Another question is ip should we change ip?
What steps should we take to avoid getting caught card sharing?

port forwarding only needed if you use your box as a server, i can't go into card share details as it is aganist the forum rules.

for normal usage of the dreambox, you shouldn't need to portforward any ports. You asked questions into matters that require some research. Best do that yourself as you will learn more and be able to set it all up.
