    Dm500 and Crossover cable

Having connected my laptop to my Dm500 via crossover cable I find that I can't connect to it using Filezilla.

Do I need to change the settings in either FileZilla or Dreambox?

    I'm currently getting

'Connection established, waiting for welcome message...'

    followed by

    'Error: Connection timed out
Error: Could not connect to server'

    cheers

      put ip of dreambox
and username and pass of dreambox
      in Filezilla
leave the port box in Filezilla blank

      if it dont Connect

      open port 21 in router
      and try again

Filezilla pisses all over dreambox control center
      as most of you know

          no router
To open ftp port 21 you need to change windows firewall settings

          this is for xp

Open ftp port 21 on windows XP operating system

OK here's what I've done so far.

Laptop ip made static..set ip to..192.168.1.1

                Dm unticked DHCP..set ip to192.168.1.2

                Successfully transfered file using FileZilla

What do I now need to re-set to get things going please?

                  now you got FileZilla working
what are you trying to do ??
FileZilla lets you transfer files from one place to another

                  its a FTP program

                        or a plug in dongle
