Tuner problem?

Hi all,

Its been a while since i posted as all has been going well......

I have a problem and i dont seem to be able to find out much about it.

I get the following message
"switch service could not be found"

checked the satfind and It doesn't lock on to the sat. no picture on any channel whatsoever. I put a second dm500 on the same cable and it works so it is not the feed.

I have done a reflash but the problems still there. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

press menu/information/about and see the tuner type listed after----Frontend: Satellite
if it says unknown the tuner is goosed

Thanks for that usefull info. Cant see anything listed after frontend. The recent build quality of thes dm v8 (new black type ) is dubious. m8 has similar problem but bought from a different source.

v8 are the best clone imo jap tuners to boot and stay very cool

go up and down 1 channel it works for me, the box seams to fast for the server ime


also fresh inage no addons or added skins may be worth trying

thanks again for the info. I am using gemini 4.6 and have different osd setup. I have included a sceenshot which shows an alps tuner. I have done some more research and it looks like it could be the Q72 transistor.

I have to take back what i said previously regarding dm500V8. they are black but not V8.

I Usually get V8 from dealerxtreme without any issues. These boxes were got from flee bay and the seller wont return my messages

flash differnt image on it , try darkstar2

got new one from ebay like you maby same guy sold this one to me, put darkstar on it and seams to be fine now

when you use any gemini imo its best to flash erase it first
did you flash erase first?
