Newbie - First Posting

Hi , just joined the forum and will be looking for loads of help in getting my Dreambox500s up and running. Managed to get it to load up all channels from Nilesat and very impressed with the quality ( much better than previous satbox).
Do I have to use a null modem cable to box setup for cardsharing or just plug in to the broadband?

it needs to go through router to box with ethernet cables null modem cable is only really used for flashing

by the way what size dish have you got for nilesat or where are you from

I have a 1m dish and live in Cyprus.

Yes mate if you want to share you need to get a null modem cable as you will need to programme your config files with Lines.. are you running CCcam..?

Do you have the Dreambox Control Centre Software..?
Did you buy your box ready flashed..?

you dont use a null modem to access your config files m8, you either use a cross over rj45 cable or use a standard ethenet rj45 connected to your router, and use a ftp program such as flashfxp or cuteftp.

when i used my null modem cable to connect my DB to my PC then used DCC to edit my config files i must have been dreaming
