"Please wait while motor is turning to....."

Just installed a DM500-S, which is connected to a motorised H-H dish that I used to use with a Humax. It has been set up with Long/Lat and to use "Go To X".

For channels on 28.2E and 19.2E it works fine, but, on others (13E 0.8W) it just keeps displaying the following message.....

Please wait while motor is turning to xxx

I suspect that either the motor is not functioning correctly or the dish is not aligned, but, I have a question that might help. What is it that tells the DM500 that the motor has moved the dish to correct position? If it was purely a mechanical thing then I would have thought it would just move there and if the dish was misaligned it would not be able to latch on to satellite. Or, is it detecting that it hasn't found a strong enough signal?

By the way, while it is still "moving to 13E", I can look at the status and it says:
    SNR 63%
    ACC 100%
    BER 10
    What do these mean?

    Thanks!

SNR is Signal to Noise Ratio (signal basically). If you are getting 63% snr then I would think that your dish is alligned properly.

Just noticed that the Sync and Lock boxes are not crossed. So, I guess it hasn't latched on to satellite properly!

If your box is a clone like mine is then you will find it will move to some sat locations but not others, the goto x function is a waste of time, you will have to manually turn the motor to the sat and save the possition when you lock onto a strong transponder.

Thanks! Yes, I was coming to that conclusion and just gearing myself up to do that!
