DM500 cant lock on

I flashed over the network so will use a cable tomorrow and let you know. just going to try an older image.

I try it with a null modem cable and an ethernet cable together.

Make sure you do a flash erase first with Dreamup 1.3.3.4

This seems the better version of Dreamup.

mate if using sky plus box then u shud have 2 coax wires,put one into skyplus box and one into dreambox,my mate had same problem as as soon as he done this it locked

Well, Ive just taken the cable out of the Sky+ box, connected to DM, done a scan and its showing "waiting for tuner lock on" and then 0 transponders with 0 services scanned.

And as said, tried several different images new and old, but same results. The images were loaded via cable using dream up.

Choose single satellite in manual scan,

Finaaly pinned this one down thanks to Wannelly. Attached the old sly box to the other cable and coulld lock on straight away no problems. I assume that DM500s isnt powering up the lnb which is why it needs the sky box so unit is faulty.

At least i can now get it working.

no probs mate, i dont think it is faulty i think maybe just need 1 single coax cable from lmb to dreambox,i no its not faulty because i tried my mates on my sigle coax cable and worked ok,glad u got it sorted anyway but defo get a single coax cable mate

cant get a lock

i have the same problem and i have tried another 2 dm 500s and they were fine my image is pli jade but my tuner looks like its an cable 1 thather than a sat but has been working for about three months though
