Hi 00360362878, my settings which worked before was set to the Satellite receiver tab on the bottom of the screen in options, I have tried Enigma2 settings but again it is just the same error message, I really don't think it is the programs though as both Dreambox Edit and DreamSet wouldn't both stop working with the same error message when both worked fine a few weeks ago before the guy fixed my box, as Bulld0g suggested I tried resetting the password by doing the below:

Menu
Setup
Blue - Panel
Extras/Settings
Password

When I go into this screen at the top it states: Changing password for "rrot"
Enter old password: (This is a blank box)
Enter new password: (This is a blank box)
Re-enter new passwoed: (This is a blank box)

delete old password? (The tick box is blank)

Is this the screen which I need to go into Bulld0g or have I got it totally wrong, if it is would I just type in dreambox as the old password and then pick a new password of my choice?

Sorry for been hesitant in playing around with this but after I did the factory reset and couldn't fix the box myself I don't want to mess it up again,

I changed my password using DCC (Dreambox control centre) not the remote m8, but what you said looks like it will achieve the same result

What i mean 007 there is an option in DBE and Dreamset for use with enigma1 and enigma2 if your boxes are dm500s then make sure you are set to enigma1 mate.
Just thinking you have tried 2 boxes getting the same result it might be something simple

I had the exact same problem yesterday only had the dreambox 500 a few days. I got the password issue working by flashing the box with a new image using dream up and its been working like a dream so far.
