what is the differences between 500 and 600 apart from hdd . Is the mainboard the same ? . Any big , stabilising changes or easier to use in the area we can't talk about .

i reckon its just got a bigger memory and the abillity to hold a harddrive if you only want to view channels then the 500 will be fine

Yes, you have to fit the drive...Not Sata though, DM600s uses 2.5 IDE interface (like laptop drives)
