A question if i may?

i have followed the tut in this thread and have loaded gemini 4.2 cccam onto a dm500s,it says boxed flashed etc,but when i connect it to the telly and leads and hit scan nothing happens,am i missing something here quite simple?? is there something else i should be loading to it to make it work,or once connected up to the telly/satellite etc it should do its thing?

I have spent the best part of 4 hrs reading up on the 500s as i am totally new to them,come from a eurovox environment,and have done the above so is it me (almost certainly) or the box?

Have you actually tried to scan for any channels once you have a lock on the sat??

Have you added a bouquet?? This saves alot of scanning and if its a good set will put the channels in for you.

No i haven`t added a bouquet,is this something that has to be added first,or is it something that it scans for when locked on.
I suppose the first thing to ask,is i have done the right thing when loading that particular gemini image to the box,should the box then do its thing when scanning?

And/or where do i get the right bouquet from? i have tcb.cc which has bouquets in,and how would i load them to the box?

Have a read of this thread below.Shows you how to use Dreambox edit and how to upload the bouquets.

Do you have a fixed or motorised set up?


Ive a Dm500 bouquet for fixed dish Astra 28.2 if you need it.
One ive downloaded from here and played with.

When you get a feel for it you can move and delete channel lists with ease,Andy.

Regarding image its a matter of opinion but most go with Pli Jade 3 maxvar.It doesent use much space on the Dreambox as the Dm500 doesnt have alot of space for skins,plugins etc.
Pretty user friendly and easy to use.
I would recommend it for the Dm 500 if not Nabilosat Darkstar.
