No connection when connecting with Flashxp

i have flashed my dreambox with dreamup and put the dk1.1 image. i connected my box with router ethernet cable. i get all the ip address.
plus my box is connect to my laptop via null cable.
when i goto flashxp, put my ip address in from the dreambox ip page, and when i put user root and password dreabox.
on the bottom it says Connecting to (my ip address) tyhen it says connection failed (no route to host).
then i have tryed connecting the ethernet cable from the box to my laptop and when i connect it says Connected to (ip address)
then few seconds later it says Connection failed (Connection lost)..

ip addy is that of your dreambox
user name is =root
password=dreambox

Make sure you press F4 to input info and be quick,thats why your losing connection.

ip addy - yes thats my dreambox ip.

iv downloaded thats software from rapidshare, but its not working.

i'll try f4 and try again.. let u know if i get lucky..

im connecting it using the null cable from laptop to dreambox

what am i doing wrong..

If off laptop you should be doing this wireless.
Take it the boxes network has been set up?

I too am struggling to load a cline to my dm500s , i've previously loaded one using flash fxp , as i found i couldn't copy / paste my cline ccamlines manager for some unknown reason .
I guess it must be a setting wrong somewhere , but where ??. When i click the lightning bolt in flash fxp , enter dreambox ip address , root , dreambox , port , etc and try to connect , it just displays , connection failed , time out .

It's connected via ethernet and it tells me i'm connectd when i do a connection test in ccamlines manager , i'd appreciate it if anyone could guide me step by step including how i should have the dreambox set and ready as it's new to me and is driving me crackers !

I've give this a go Mate , clicked on connect , enter the same details as fxp , dreambox ip , id = root ,password
= dreambox etc , protocol auto , but it just hangs there forever , displaying "connecting to server" ?

iv got mine connected now using flashxp now.. i was told if im using my laptop i can get into dreanbox wireless, i had my box connected to router, to go dm500 setup and got my ip address from there, then put it in flashxp and user name root, and password dreambox, connect. it was that easy..

Not the 1st time iv'e used fxp Mate and it's immediately connected in the past , but for some reason , not now ! , been trying 3 days now and getting more fed up by the day !

I'm connected again , thanks to all , yet i'm still bemused as to how !!
I downloaded the latest version of fxp and after an hours fishing about with the settings , BINGO ! , i've a lot to learn ! , problem is , i've already forgotten what i've just done !! Must be the stella !!
