    File Too bBg

Just tried flashing a 500 with DreamUp (pli-jade3-dm500plus image) and I get 'file to big'

Anyone know what I can do?

The file was originally a .nfi file so I renamed it .img (it couldn't detect it as a .nfi file) Don't know if this makes any difference?

    Thanks

DM 500 has limited var space, thats why so many people use the maxvar versions of pli and nabilosat.
Not much room for skins and plugins,

    Andy.

But I used the 'erase flash' option first!!

Also it did have PLi on it previously, do I need to empty it first?

I always do a flash erase before i flash another image on it.
Not 100% certain but the nfi files are normally flashed with a browser on the likes of the Dm500hd and Dm 800hd etc
This is to big a flash for the Dm 500s.
Personally i would go back to Pli,its user friendly and not to fussy and stable.

Go on the pli website, you will see a bar chart with all the downloads.
Select the Dm 500 think this is the Pli Jade 3 Maxvar.

First one you can see in bar chart.

I like to do it with null modem plus ethernet together with Dreamup 1.3.3.4

            Thats the daddy you want,

            Andy,

andy is right mate, you cant just rename the file.. .nfi's are images for Enigma2 machines, your Dreambox 500 is an Enigma 1 so you need to use images that are designed for the Dreambox 500..

I have and always will stick with Gemini 4.2, used it for 4 years nearly.. flirted with pli etc but always went back to the user friendly 4.2

If you have recently bought your box then its a safe bet to use 4.2 as it will be a clone.. Original D500s were last made in late 2007
