How to create network mount using Pli Jade with the remote

This mount enables you to record, put EPG, make backups, put "var" etc. on the drive of your pc.Having var on the mount leaves maximum possible space on your box for top notch performance.

First create a folder on your c drive and enable sharing on it.Once you have done this restart the pc and dreambox or it will not see the mount.
In my example on the pc I use, I made a shared folder called "shared" with also the sharename "shared" I gave read write access to everyone (simple filesharing) The ip of this pc is 192.168.0.2

When done press green and thats it your now have your network mount please read the following before posting any problems.

Backups are overwritten each time, when you want to keep dated backups you have to make copies yourself from the mount folder.

When your flash gets corrupted and you have a recent backup you can skip everything after a new flash, just make the mount again and do a restore

Plicons don't work on a windows share because Plicons use symlinks (linux stuff)

The pc with the shared folder must be on, the dreambox gets into a loop when you have the pc off and the dreambox is restarting. The loop will end when you turn on the pc

To move var to your pc you do the same steps but you choose as mount "/media/var" and in the menu you go to /var settings to move all to your mount

Any other problems just ask ,there is also a more detailed guide on the pli website but follow this and you should be ok.

I have been shown the epg runs better without a network mount, but if you want to do with follow this.

The internal memory of all enigma1 boxes is too small for an extended EPG store.
Therefore is it necessarily to store to Sqlite database to a hard disk, USB stick or CF
card. The hard drive could be a mounted network drive. Use a CIFS mount, no NFS
    mount.

In Pli Jade3 SQlite is installed. But not activated

    Activiation:

    ?
    Blue button:
    ?
    System properties.
    ?
    EPG
    ?
EPG store: select SQlite Choose a place for the database on the network mount.
Next install the SQlite EPG download plugin:

    ?
    blue button
    ?
    Software
    ?
    download.

Start the Dreambox EPG Config via the Yellow button, select Dreambox EPG Config.

    The next screen appears:

    Select Package: Radio Times

Press the blue button to see the channels ,you have to map them by linking them to each other in the left and right boxes, this can be a pain but you only need to do it once.Once your done green button to save, then select the following.

    Time Offset: 0
Number of day: your choice but i find it best at 2 days
    Use Cron: X
Update at: Select a time that the update is wanted.

Press Retrieve (Yellow button). A retrieve will be between 5 and 10 minutes.

There is a more detailed guide on the pli wiki page, but folow this and you should be ok.
