How to switch off the DM500S

Hi guys, I've been searching in the forum but couldn't find any solution so decided to open this thread

So my question is quite simple, I've got a DM500s with PLi image installed, the thing is when I push the power button to switch it off it goes in stand-by mode while network still pinging, is there a way to completely switch it off? (other then unplug the power?)

    cheers
    Tony

No.. The box is designed to be either on or in standby.. It's a networking Linux based PC with a Sat / Cable or Terrestial tuner attached in essence.. The way it is designed to work means it needs to be on or in standby 24/7/365

turn off every thing, like when you push the power button on a TV

thing is I bought the DM500 for my sis
while I've got a HVR-4000 on my pc
so since I use CS (which we cannot talk about it)

if my sis does not turn it off or unplug the power or the network cable, I cannot watch it on my pc

wont it be easier to pull the plug ????

unless you good at electrical or you know someone that is
maybe you could get summat like a in-line switch on the power
            cable

she can just turn off the ccam mate with the remote , in darkstar 2 ,its blue then left to selected common interface the ok iirc , that would have the same affect as her unpluging the network or power her end , if im miss understanding sorry im bushed

p.s my tv does not have a hard power switch so its always on or in standby

I guess I can ask her to do it before switching it off
