i am watching 1 or 2 dreambox's on ebay and will be purchasing 1 this weekend. is there a big different between the clones and the original and what's the faults between the 2. Thanks Paul

why buy from ebay? ones ive looked at usually sell for more than they do in shop
and you will get the warranty with a shop. the clones are in most cases just as good as the original, you just need to becareful of the image you choose to put on it, make sure it says clone friendy, non bomb, etc pli and nabilo are ok some of the gemini images are suspect

I just bought a clone (dm500s). I'm afraid that was a misstake. The box does not boot up any more. I'll try to install some other images but i'm afraid that if PLi doesnt work i'm out of luck...Comment

you will not get a new origional, have not been made for years. i use dmv500 v8, bar the odd one, no issues, 4 faulty out of over 200 bought. even buying goods from tescos etc, you would get that many faulty.Comment

Clones aren't bad but:
I've got a genuine D500, bought it in 2007..
It's never crashed, never needed reflashing, works effortlessly with GotoX, has survived 2 house-moves, never overheats, works as good as the day it was made..
I'd like to see a clone when its nearly 4 years old do that..
Have a look at a DM500HD, its quality will outstrip that of any cheap Chinese clone
