pli jade system freeze when channel hopping

hi guys i have pli jade installed and have my var and hdd mounted to my pc with epg working great
the only problem is when i'm flicking channels some time the box freezes and the remote does not work i have to wait a few seconds then it all catches up with itself
any ideas

Is your hard disk set to stop spinning when not active? That will make it freeze when it tries to read the EPG if the disk is used for EPG storage.
