Does DM500 need to be connected to the internet at all times?

if using a c-line with cccam, to watch ur dreambox does it always have to be hooked up to the internet?

my internet box is in a different room to were my dreambox and tv will be.

any ideas?

if its not connected you will only get fta channels

how far apart are the items..?

can you not run a 10m Ethernet cable through a gap in the wall..??

i probably could but it would be a bit untidy.

my tv and box would be in the upstairs bedroom and my internet box in the downstairs living room.

would you recommend the wifi bridge for the problem that I have?

a Wi-Fi bridge is the only way to solve your problem really..

They provide a transparent extension of the Ethernet over the wiring in your house. Ethernet Dreambox to homeplug, Ethernet other homeplug to router and it will connect the Dreambox to the Router.

They can be a bit fiddly sometimes as it does not always work in every socket but once set up they will be reliable.

get a pair of homeplugs. you plug one in next to your router and put an ethernet cable between the 2 then plug one in next to the dreambox and connect the 2 with another ethernet cable and then you have a wireless network they are excellent
