password for dmv 500

hi guys
my mate has just given me his dmv 500 to load a new cline on for him , problem is its running on software i have never seen its is GP also the cam its running on is called desi sensation i have never seen or heard of this ,

also i have cannot access the box via ftp its asking for user and passwords
i have tried root and dreambox , root and password ,
he has bought this online so im thinking it might be looked some how

help ?

do a reflash with new image, should wipe everything off and revert back to root dreambox.

i have tried but wont even let me flash it , keeps saying connection error wrong password , also the box has a cline or something in it cos its working perfect at my house but at my mates its clitching every couple of ,imutes

you need to flash it with DreamUP or just go into your menu settings and select restore factory settings

you will loose your information in your config file if you do this

Evening Gibbo74, I am also using desi-sensation on my DM500 box as are a lot of people in the Midlands from what I can gather and it seems to be running ok now, that's probably cause I've not played around with it since I got it fixed again,

Regarding your issue about the password, I also did a factory rest on my box a few months ago but by doing this I lost the desi senstation cam and then I couldn't install a new one so I had to take the box back and get it fixed again, but like you I also still have the same problem where my dreambox is not accepting the root and password, personally I would avoid doing a factory reset but as Opsmonkey suggested try using DreamUp and see if that can solve the problem, can you let me know your outcome if you do this please?

this desi-senstation cam sounds like a fiddle from whoever you bought your box from..

its your box, demand your passwords to enter your box..

i've never heard of this cam in 4 years..

You can erase the password from the TV screen using tuxbox commander then get in over FTP or telnet.

It's been a while since I did it but certainly I have done it.

Hi who ever is scamming you has changed the root password desi sensation i have never heard off such cam someone has renamed a cccam or something i would love to see the what kind of line is in the box n or c

Looks like u guys bought trader supplied plug and play pre configured. Typical trader trick change passwords so u have to go to them for support.

This is really no different then what they used to do with the old Pace boxes on cable by withholding the boxkey or the ird. The only way round it was doing some reading and then sorting it out yourself.

Desi-Sensation cam is just a name given to a CCcam. Fields in these boxes have been altered to stop one gaining access. I don't know enough, but the box won't allow tuxbox install. The sellers need to protect the all so important C line that this box contains!

Does anybody know if its possible to back up an image of this box and simply upload it to another blank dreambox.. therefore transferring the all important C line without actually getting into the box as the password is unknown?

to back up the image you need to have the the passwords to enable the telnet client
