HeLp WiTh RoUtEr AnD dReAmBoX 500s

Hi guys, big up to you lot for helping me get this far with my box really appreciate it. I'm stuck and need your help, iv recently bought a dreambox 500s, I'm pretty sure it's a clone cuz I paid ?65 for it from hong kong. Iv installed gemini 4.2.0 and I'm really stuck on how to install a CCcam, iv been told to download the latest one from the blue menu but the Internet won't work on my box. Iv got a o2 router and I'm connecting it direct to my dreambox via a Ethernet cable, iv also got a laptop which I'm using wirelessly off it. I'm completely puzzled as to what I have to put into the connection setup boxes for ip, gateway, Nameserver etc..... And also which boxes I shud put a tick in. Iv tried various combinations but to no success. I want to connect direct through the router and not use my pc to link it. I keep getting and error "can't resolve hostname" I'm just about ready to throw it in the bin and give up, please help!!! Thank you all!!!

    hi mate..

your box will be a clone as the 500s hasn't been made for 3 years..

when you connect the box to the router it should automatically give the box the information it needs..

have you got both ends of the ethernet cable plugged in firmly..? do you have another cable to use..? the one you are using at the moment may be faulty..

when you log into your router settings via your laptop can you see if the router has assigned anything to the box..?
