Cannot mount PC drive using gp image

    Hi guys,

    I've mounted many a dm500 - was very easy.

Just upgraded to a dm800 and want to mount a shared folder (shared with everyone) called dreambox to my dm800 (this folder mounts fine on a dm500) off 1 of my pc's.

I have a windows platform so I am using CIFS, I've tried everything I can think of but all I get when I press record is an error saying "hdd less than 100mb". I check the mounts and it tells me the mount is active on the right hand side (indicated by a big green tick) but on the left it tells me the drive isn't mounted (indicated by a red cross). I've searched for the last 2 hours but all I come up against is a nabilo guide - but I have a gp 4.4 image as my box is a clone.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

                      Try this..

                      Automount CIFS on DM800:

                      Blue-Panel
                      Extras/Settings
                      Automount Editor

                      Add (green buton)

                      Mountpoint: Directory
                      Type: cifs
                      Options: rw,soft,udp,nolock
                      Username: user (example: db)
                      Password: pass (example: dreambox)
                      Bufer Size: rsize=8192,wsize=8192
server: ip of your pc (example: 192.168.1.123)
Share: folder that you want to share on PC (example: /FUN)

In this way you will automount folder "Fun" from your PC (192.168.1.123/fun)

To access this folder on DM800, go to:

                      menu
                      Media Player
                      Directory (automount) in "filelist"

You must use active user and pass on device that you connect to !

Ok, I can now browse that directory in media player but it still will not let me record what I'm watching on my dm800 to my hard drive by pressing the red button.

                        Any ideas?

                            Still no joy.

There seems to be setting in a few places - I've tried using automountmanager supplied with the image but all I get is "hdd < 100mb" when I press the red button.

Thanks for all your help thus far bud - it's really appreciated.

As well as the mount manager there is also a setting called recording paths.

                            The options for mountmanager are:

                            local share name:
mount type (I've et this to cifs)
server ip: (I know to put the host pc ip here)
                            server share:
                            use as HDD replacement:
                            mount options:

Username and apssword (I've set these to my pc uname and pword)

In Gemini 4.5 you can change the recording path by..

Go to Menu -> settings -> system -> recording path and set it up according to what your location is

don't think you can change the path in 4.4
