DREAMBOX POSSABILITIES

HI ALL

just had a dreambox 500s with a fixed dish set up at home along with dreambox edit on the laptop never used this type of set up before so right now i m doing alot of reading up from this site on how it all works.
to save me time i was hoping someone could point me in the right direction as to the possabillites of the system ei: is dreambox edit just a programme to add and delete boqouets..... maybe theres other prorammes out there that can make your box individual?

just wondering what else u can do with the box apart from edit your bouquets..... like recording,music etc

with a dreambox you can watch TV.

if it is not enough then you can also listen to web radio

you can record to your hd films and what even on tv

you can use depending on your situation crdsharing so you share your card with others and others share with you theire cards and cards of theire peers ( persons who share theire cards with them)

i don't know about legal aspects as i share my card between two receivers at home.

you can manage list and favorit as you want using dreamboxedit ( a tool that connect to dreambox by rj45 cable )

you can access the file system of the dreambox using dcc295 with rj45 to install plugins or to configure your cardsharing files

you must know that dm500 is a linux embeded machine. So it has a file sysytem like in linux.
the unique folder where you can do adjustement is the \var one

to begin you must connect your dm500 to internet via your router

if you want more details ask but try to be clear on what you want as it is dificult to say all about this receiver in one post.
