Hi, Ive had my Dm800 (clone) for just over two weeks now and it has been running fine with no problems.

This morning when i came to switch it on, and it started making a loud whirring noise as if it was about to take off!

I'm guessing this is the fan/cooler?

Should i be worried or can i leave it? and how will it affect the running of my Dm800?

The box does seem quiet now after a while of leaving it on, i just though it was a bit odd as i havent heard anything since i bought it until this morning

The fans are low quality and are pretty crap. That loud whirring noise means the fan bearing is on it's way out. The noise will return at some stage,.
Same thing happened to my'n, I managed to sort it out for a while by lubricating the fan bearing with a drop of oil. Lasted another couple of months and same issue.
I've removed the internal fan now, and I use a USB powered laptop cooler with a fan that the box sits on..
Theyre a 1 quid from poundland...Longer term im probably going to find a better quality internal fan and mod it so it switches off when the box is in standby...
